Final Booklet

For our final project we had to do a booklet in Adobe InDesign that contained all of our projects from the semester. These projects were the Banner, Bug Replica, Bug Logos, and Bug House that were done in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Here is the front book cover of our final.

Assignment#1: Statement of Intent

Since centipedes can be found in a various number of enviroments and live in its habitants, I've decided to combine these elements together. There are many different types of centipedes as well so they vary in size too. For this assignment I am going to leave the the picture of the home in the background since, centipedes can live in houses. I am adding a waterfall and pond because they can also swim and beacuse there are aquatic centipedes as well. Centipedes can also be found in deserts, soil, gardens, and decayed wood so I took those factors into consideration and combined them all together.

Assignment #3 Finished Logos/Statements

These Logos with the idea of a construction company. Centipede Constructions

Image as Logo

I am trying to portray a centipede in a 3-dimenisional box (the four corners of a building). It implies that whether a house or building needs to be repaired or built it can’t be put together without the proper construction team. And by the image of the centipede holding up the four corners of the walls it states that if you choose Centipede Construction Co. then your house or building would have the proper support to stand.

Letter as Logo

In this design, I used the whole centipede and curved it to look like the letter C. Inside the C, part of the bug I made lines in between so they could look like blue prints of a building’s structure. The circle in the background is to make an emphasis on the shape of the centipede and to make the blue print lines stand out against the bug.

Word as Logo

In this design, I have a centipede holding a nail with its end antennas and placing it into a wood slat.  Since it is for a Construction Company, I made the centipede’s body replace what would normally be a hammer. The way the word is put into the image is supposed to guide the viewer’s eye to the nail and as a result, think of something about construction.

In this design, I used the centipede bug and scaffolds to show the idea of construction. I made the centipede’s antenna into a C so I could spell out the word in between the scaffolds on top of the centipede and also used those as legs. It shows how as a Construction company, the centipede has many legs (workers) to support itself.

Assignment #3 Statement

Here are the three roughs of the logos for the centipede. They are meant to be based off of promoting a construction company while using the centipede to be te symbol of it. The first rough is meant for the bug and logo, the second rough is just for the logo and the third one is going to be the word and the outlined shape.

Assignment #2

Centipedes are small animals with worm like bodies and have about a hundred legs. Thier bodies are a  bit flattened compared to that of a millipede and each of thier joints have one pair of legs.

This type of centipede is a house centipede. Centipedes also lay 

thier eggs in soil or decayed wood to protect them from predators.  -in picture below

 They are closely related to spiders and insects but catch thier prey in a similar way as scorpions do, with thier venomous claws. They catch thier prey by paralyzing them which are  usually earthworms, cockroaches and sometimes mice.
